Amsterdam UMC

The Neuromuscular Diseases Department at Amsterdam UMC specializes in neuromuscular diseases (NMZ) with a focus on immune-mediated polyneuropathies and myopathies, ALS, post-polio syndrome, hereditary motor and sensory neuropathies (HMSN), and limb-girdle dystrophy.

In addition to clinical research, the department conducts preclinical research aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of disease mechanisms and identifying new therapeutic targets.

The Neuromuscular Diseases and Rehabilitation Departments at AMC are also integral parts of the ALS Center, contributing to the advancement of care and research for ALS and related conditions.
