About us
The Dutch Center for Neuromuscular Diseases (Spierziektencentrum Nederland) is a collaborative network of physicians and researchers from all national medical centers specializing in neuromuscular disorders.
Mission – The mission of Spierziektencentrum Nederland is to significantly improve the quality of life and participation of patients with neuromuscular diseases in the Netherlands by implementing innovative treatments based on groundbreaking scientific research.
Vision – This mission is achieved through close collaboration within the field, rapid adaptation to new developments, continuous innovation, and attracting and retaining young talent through high-quality education and research programs.
Objectives
With a focus on trial readiness, new treatments (treatment readiness), and attracting and retaining talents in the field, we aim to:
- Provide high-quality, personalized care for all people with neuromuscular diseases in the Netherlands.
- Facilitate, support, and coordinate high-quality research in the field of neuromuscular diseases, with the goal of being among the top three in the world.
- Ensure effective knowledge transfer and education across all relevant disciplines in the field of neuromuscular diseases, with optimal communication to target groups.
