Dr. Umesh Badrising has been a staff member and full-time neurologist at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) since 2017, specializing in neuromuscular diseases. He earned his medical degree from Leiden University and completed his neurology training at LUMC. In 2006, he obtained his PhD with the dissertation “Inclusion Body Myositis: A Nationwide Study.”

Currently, Dr. Badrising is primarily involved in scientific research on inclusion body myositis and facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, as well as improving care for these patient groups. He is an active member of the Medical Ethics Committee Leiden-The Hague-Delft, participates in the Myositis Network Netherlands, and serves as a medical advisor to the Dutch Center for Neuromuscular Diseases.
