My PhD research emphasizes the role of the immune system in the development of Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP). Specifically, I study certain immune cells in the blood of patients to understand how these cells contribute to the disease process.

In addition, I collaborate with colleagues from Erasmus MC and UMC Utrecht to establish a database called ICOS. This database will store clinical and biological data from a large cohort of CIDP patients. The primary aim of ICOS is to deepen our understanding of CIDP, including its progression and clinical course.
