Eirlys Pijpers
- Role: PhD Candidate, occupational therapist

My PhD studies focus on developing, implementing and evaluating rehabilitation care based on the capability approach, a theoretical framework on well-being. Its central idea is that well-being is a result of a person’s capabilities, the set of opportunities available to this person that he or she can choose from to realise valuable functionings; these are the beings and doings that people have reason to value. The aim of this study is to investigate whether rehabilitation care based on the capability approach, capability care, leads to a higher well-being for persons with neuromuscular diseases. My supervisors are Edith Cup (Radboudumc, Rehabilitation), Jan Groothuis (Radboudumc, Rehabilitation), Gert Jan van der Wilt (Radboudumc, IQ Health science) and Baziel van Engelen (Radboudumc, Neurology).
