Physician Assistant Specializing in Neuromuscular Disorders

After completing my nursing training, I began working in 2009 in the Neurology Department at UMC Utrecht. During this time, I pursued a degree in Health Sciences at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and briefly worked at VU Medical Center.

Since 2015, I have been part of the ALS Center at UMC Utrecht, initially as a research nurse conducting clinical studies on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Currently, I work as a physician assistant, continuing my involvement in clinical ALS studies. In addition to this, I conduct research and provide care for individuals with Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS) and Progressive Spinal Muscular Atrophy (PSMA). I am also actively involved in the treatment of adults with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) using Nusinersen (Spinraza).
