Prof. Dr. C.G. Faber

Karin Faber is a neurologist and professor specializing in neuromuscular disorders. Within this broad group of conditions, MUMC+ has specific expertise in myotonic dystrophy, painful neuropathy/small fiber neuropathy, and outcome measures (clinimetrics). Her research group is affiliated with the School for Mental Health & Neurosciences (MHeNS) at Maastricht University (UM).
Karin Faber and her colleagues collaborate nationally with other Neuromuscular Disease Centers, particularly with Radboudumc within the Myotonic Dystrophy Expertise Center. Additionally, she has established long-standing collaborations in the field of painful neuropathy/small fiber neuropathy with Yale University (Prof. Dr. S.G. Waxman) and the Carlo Besta Institute in Milan (Prof. Dr. G. Lauria). She also serves as a board member of the Neuromuscular Diseases Working Group within the Dutch Society for Neurology.
