Dr. Femke C.C. Klouwer
- Role: Pediatric Neurologist, Neurologist

After obtaining my PhD from the University of Amsterdam in 2018 (thesis: Zellweger Spectrum disorders: From bench to bedside), I completed my training as a neurologist and pediatric neurologist at Amsterdam UMC. I initiated several research projects focusing on neurometabolic disorders and was directly involved in the chronic multidisciplinary care of this group of patients.
In 2025, I started working as a pediatric neurologist and fellow pediatric neuromuscular disorders at LUMC. I am actively involved in the multidisciplinary care of children with Duchenne and children with other neuromuscular disorders visiting our pediatric neuromuscular center. In addition, I strive to contribute to multiple research initiatives within our center and its collaborative networks, with a particular focus on natural history studies and clinical trials for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
