Scope of This National Protocol
In 2021, the international CIDP guideline was revised under the leadership of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) and the Peripheral Nerve Society (PNS) (Van den Bergh et al., 2021). This guideline extensively covers both the diagnosis and induction treatment of CIDP.
This protocol specifically focuses on IVIg maintenance treatment in CIDP. For CIDP diagnosis and first-line treatment, reference is made to the EAN/PNS guideline.
This is a protocol and not a formal NVN (Dutch Neurology Association) guideline. However, since the international EAN/PNS guideline applies methods similar to those used by the NVN Guidelines Committee (including PICO framework, GRADE methodology, and input from patient organizations), it has been decided to integrate the EAN/PNS guideline into this national protocol through a direct link to the original publication:
EAN/PNS Guideline on CIDP
