Non-dystrophic myotonia – consensus guideline

This guideline was developed through the Neuromuscular Diseases working group (Spierziekten Centrum Nederland) of the Dutch Society of Neurology. The foundation for this guideline was the Guideline published by Stunnenberg et al. (Muscle Nerve, 2020 ;62:430), recent reviews, and existing protocols from university medical centers (UMCs). Based on these sources, an initial version was drafted by the neuromuscular group at Radboud UMC and LUMC. This version was circulated among the centers within Spierziekten Centrum Nederland. Following feedback from various contributors, the text was revised, and a new version was created. This revised version was again distributed among the neuromuscular centers within Spierziekten Centrum Nederland and was ultimately approved in September 2026, with publication on the SCN website.
