NMD Clinical Symposium

Friday 10 January 2025

Acute Neuromuscular Diseases

The Neuromuscular Diseases Clinical Symposium, organized annually by the Muscle Diseases Center Netherlands (SCN), has the theme ‘Acute neuromuscular diseases’ this year. Based on a number of recognizable presentations in the clinic, including rabdomyolysis and respiratory involvement, you will be given tools for daily practice.

Just like last year, the symposium on Friday will follow on from the SCN (preclinical) research symposium that will be held on Thursday, January 9 at the Amsterdam UMC. On Friday, you will also receive a summary of the most important preclinical news from Thursday. SCN hopes to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration between researchers and clinicians in the Netherlands. Participation in both days is highly recommended for an overview of the extensive work being done in the Netherlands in the field of neuromuscular diseases.

At the symposium on Friday, SCN will once again present the Annual NL-NMD thesis Awards for the best preclinical and clinical thesis of 2024. The winner will then provide a nice summary of the thesis. Of course, as every year, you will receive an overview of the most important news in the neuromuscular field. The day traditionally ends with the neuromuscular quiz. There is plenty of time to talk to your colleagues during the breaks, during lunch and afterwards at the drinks.

The symposium will be offered online again this year. We are pleased to announce that residents, physician assistants and nurses can register again this year for a reduced rate.
